Muzzle brakes are low maintenance. There’s no set cleaning schedule. Clean your MANAEL Muzzle Brake when it needs it, which for most shooters is less often than you’d think.

What you’ll need

  • Your usual gun oil or CLP
  • A clean cloth or patch
  • Decarboniser (optional, but handy for heavy use)

How to clean it

  1. Wipe down the exterior with a cloth and a light coat of gun oil
  2. Run a clean patch through after any solvent use
  3. For carbon buildup around the ports, usually some decarboniser and elbow grease will do the trick.

That’s it. No specialist products required.

What to avoid

  • WD-40 – it’s not a protectant, can work into areas you don’t want it and lead to damage to surface coatings and materials
  • Harsh chemicals – these can strip surface coatings
  • Ultrasonic cleaners – not recommended; they can damage finishes and seals

Standard gun solvents and oils are all you need.

How often should I clean it?

Only when your MANAEL Muzzle Brake needs it. Factors that mean more frequent cleaning:

  • High round count sessions
  • Dirty or corrosive ammunition
  • Wet or dusty conditions

If it looks clean and is functioning normally, leave it alone.
